ATE & Laboratory Technician

About the Role

As an ATE & Laboratory Technician, you will join our Connected Devices R&D organization and play a key role in supporting research, development, testing, and operational activities across multiple engineering teams.

This position combines hands-on technical work, laboratory management, equipment maintenance, prototype support, and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) activities. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, project teams, and external suppliers to ensure that development and testing environments remain operational, organized, and efficient.

You will have a major role in building and and maintaining our setups and test equipment as well as creating test jigs, 3D printing, assembling prototypes (PCBs, sensors and mechanical assemblies), and reporting results using a broad range of modelmaking equipment, latest measurement and mechanical test equipment and prototype PCBA assembly equipment

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support to engineering teams across the Connected Devices R&D organization.
• Support ATE engineers in the assembly, integration, bring-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems.
• Build, maintain, and repair laboratory equipment, test setups, fixtures, cables, and prototypes.
• Assist with hardware bring-up, product validation, debugging, and engineering investigations.
• Manage laboratory operations, including equipment calibration, inventory, logistics, and supplier coordination.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and equipment records.
• Support research activities, field trials, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a laboratory technician, engineering technician, or similar technical role.
• Practical Engineer or Electrical Technician certification (or equivalent technical education).
• Strong hands-on experience with electronics, hardware systems, RF equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining technical equipment and laboratory setups.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• High level of spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting ATE systems in R&D or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with production testing, engineering validation, or manufacturing processes.
• Experience with inventory management, calibration processes, and supplier coordination.
• Experience of working in complex multidisciplinary projects that requires a high level of technical know-how 
• Experience with manufacturing databases, production data pipelines, and engineering data analysis tools.
