Integration Technician – Part-Time JB-5624

Metacentric is a well-funded startup operating in the field of underwater applications: autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and advanced underwater sensing. Following a successful recruitment round, we are building the next generation of AUVs and the sensing payloads they carry, with the goal of redefining how the world perceives and operates in the underwater domain.

The role includes: assembling and operating our AUVs, from the first cable on the workbench to a vehicle performing missions at sea.

Responsibilities:

• Building, wiring, and assembling cable harnesses, connectors, and power distribution for the vehicle and its support equipment.

• Assembling and integrating AUV subsystems (thrusters, batteries, sensors, navigation, communications, and payload) within pressure housings and the vehicle frame.

• Testing and troubleshooting circuits and subsystems using laboratory equipment, and continuously updating schematics and wiring diagrams.

• Preparing, sealing, and pressure-testing housings, penetrators, connectors, and cables for underwater use.

• Preparing vehicles for missions and supporting sea trials, including launch and recovery.

• Performing maintenance, repairs, and post-mission inspections, and maintaining clear documentation of the work.

• Technician or practical engineer in electronics, robotics, or mechatronics, or equivalent training – required

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience building electrical harnesses and assembling electronic or electromechanical systems – required

• Wiring, soldering, and connector skills, and the ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams – required

• Experience working with laboratory equipment: oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply, and signal generator – required

• A flexible, multidisciplinary approach and willingness to work in the field, including sea trials – required

• Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV), ROV, or other unmanned vehicles – advantage

• Experience in the defense, aviation, or maritime industries – advantage

• Underwater connectors, sealing, and pressure housings – advantage

• Lithium batteries, BMS, and motor controllers – advantage

• PCB design, microcontrollers, and embedded systems – advantage

• ESD, EMC, and EMI – advantage

• Boating or skipper license – advantage
