Integration & Test Engineer – Part-Time JB-5623

A marine startup focused on underwater applications – autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and advanced underwater sensing – with a successful early-stage funding round, is seeking an Integration & Test Engineer.

The role: Assembly, integration and testing of autonomous systems, from the lab bench to sea trials. A hands-on position at the intersection of hardware, software and communications, working closely with the mechanical, electrical and software teams.

Responsibilities:

Assembly and integration of hardware and software subsystems in autonomous systems

Performing tests in the lab and in the field, including sea trials

Identifying and repairing faults in hardware, software and communication interfaces

Writing test procedures and documenting results

Ongoing work with the mechanical, electrical and software development teams

Practical electronics technician, or a student of mechanical or electrical engineering (third year or above) – required

Linux knowledge and familiarity with Ethernet and RS-485/RS-232 (IP addresses, baud rates, etc.) – required

Experience working with measurement equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter) and the ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and ICDs – required

Practical skills: soldering, crimping, cable and wiring harness construction, and basic mechanical assembly – required

Proven experience or strong interest in robotics and autonomous systems, and a systematic approach to troubleshooting – required

Availability for field work and sea trials – required

Good technical English (datasheets and documentation) – required

Ability to work independently and under pressure in a multidisciplinary team – required
