Senior Staff Engineer

We're looking for an exceptional Senior Staff Engineer to join a leading engineering organization and play a key role in shaping backend architecture, driving engineering excellence, and leading large-scale technology initiatives.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership across the Backend domain, driving architecture, engineering standards, technical excellence, mentoring, and professional development across multiple teams.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with the Chief Architect on architecture and technology decisions.
• Lead the Backend domain across multiple teams.
• Define engineering standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Design and review backend services built on Microservices architecture.
• Drive engineering excellence throughout the entire SDLC.
• Lead knowledge-sharing forums and align technology practices across teams.
• Promote Cloud-Native development methodologies and AI-assisted development practices.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and drive platform improvements.
• Provide technical leadership during complex production incidents and critical system challenges.
• Mentor engineers and technical leaders, fostering growth and professional development.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience developing large-scale production systems.
• Proven experience providing technical leadership across multiple teams or business units.
• Deep expertise in Java.
• Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Distributed Systems, Scalability, Resiliency, and Fault Tolerance.
• Significant experience with AWS.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of AI-driven software development methodologies.
• Experience with Observability, Performance Profiling, and Production Troubleshooting.
• Excellent mentoring, coaching, and technical leadership skills.
• Strong ability to influence stakeholders and drive technological decisions across multiple teams.
