IDEA develops and manufactures complex electro-optical systems for the semiconductor, medical device, aerospace and defence industries. Our growing CNC facility in Israel combines advanced machining equipment with a collaborative production and quality team.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Setter to take ownership of complex machining setups for high-precision opto-mechanical components.

You will turn engineering plans and CNC programs into accurate first-article parts, working closely with programmers and Quality Control before handing over stable processes to production.

Your responsibilities

• Independently set up 5-axis CNC milling machines according to programmer instructions.

• Prepare cutting tools, fixtures and materials for machining.

• Carry out first-article production runs with careful attention to accuracy and material handling.

• Review measurement results with Quality Control and make the required offset and geometry adjustments.

• Troubleshoot machining issues during setup.

• Confirm process stability before handing over to CNC Operators.

What you bring

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter, specifically with 5-axis machines.

• Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills and an understanding of GD&T.

• Practical knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to quality.

• The ability to work effectively with programming, production and quality teams.

Location and shifts

This position is based at IDEA’s facility in Israel and requires relocation from India to Israel. Willingness to work evening and night shifts is required.
