About the Opportunity

At Up Security, we're expanding our CISO services for startups and technology companies.

We're looking for an experienced CISO who knows how to take full ownership of a company's information security program, work directly with leadership teams, and translate security challenges into practical business decisions.

This opportunity is for someone who enjoys professional independence, working with technology companies, and making a real impact across different business environments.

What You'll Do?

• Serve as a trusted CISO and security advisor for technology companies and startups.
• Independently lead information security programs, from strategy and risk management to execution and ongoing oversight.
• Work directly with CEOs, management teams, and business stakeholders.
• Lead security governance, compliance, and risk management initiatives, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Oversee information security, IT security, privacy, and customer security requirements.
• Collaborate with Up Security's Product Security specialists to provide comprehensive security coverage.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into actionable security roadmaps.

What We're Looking For?

• Proven experience as a CISO, Head of Information Security, or in an equivalent security leadership role.
• Previous or current experience leading information security in startups, SaaS, product companies, or other technology-driven organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to independently own and lead end-to-end information security activities.
• Experience working directly with executives and communicating security priorities to business stakeholders.
• Broad understanding of security governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, IT security, and technology environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing multiple clients as a fractional or virtual CISO - advantage.
