About the Role

We are looking for a curious, creative and hands-on Maker to join our development team and play a key role in developing, improving and testing our products and technologies, from concept to field. This is a role for doers: someone who enjoys taking things apart, building, improving, and finding creative solutions for the company's future products.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and assemble prototypes and mechanical assemblies for drones
• Develop and continuously improve mechanisms, structures and mechanical interfaces
• Manufacture parts using a variety of technologies, such as 3D printing, machining and composite materials
• Conduct tests and experiments, and troubleshoot issues in the lab and in the field
• Work closely with software, mechanical, electronics and field operations teams
• Propose new ideas and solutions to improve performance, reliability and maintainability

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering technician or mechanical engineer
• Hands-on experience with drones or RC aircraft (professional or as a serious hobby)
• Experience in robotics, product development and prototyping
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent
• Experience with workshop tools, 3D printing and manufacturing processes
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment
