Mechanical Engineer – Composite Materials

A leading Defense Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Composites and Advanced Processes to join Manufacturing Engineering department.

Responsibilities:

• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) from R&D to full-scale production.
• Evaluate mechanical designs against manufacturing capabilities to optimize cost and manufacturability during design stages.
• Define production and control processes to achieve maximum yield, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Author method cards (using CAD tools), work instructions, specifications, and layout plans for composite manufacturing lines.
• Oversee hands-on production, mentor technicians during first-article/serial manufacturing, and resolve real-time process/assembly issues.
• Define and specify production tooling, jigs, and manufacturing equipment.
• Lead internal and customer-facing Process Readiness Reviews (PRR).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams: R&D, Procurement, Quality, Assembly, and Production floor.

Requirements:

• B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in Composite Materials — MUST
• Proven familiarity with Composite Manufacturing Technologies (Prepreg and/or Wet Layup)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting 2D/3D engineering drawings and CAD models
• Strong knowledge of materials, resin systems, and composite structures
