Procurement Buyer & Supplier Manager - Electronics & Electro-Optics

Leading Defense Company | Central Israel

A leading defense technology company in central Israel is expanding its Procurement & Supply Chain department. We are looking for experienced professional talent for two key roles:

• Procurement Buyer - Electronics & Electro-Optics
• Supplier Manager - Electronics & Electro-Optics

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Buyer:

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes for complex electronic and electro-optical components, subsystems, and high-tech assemblies.
• Issue RFQs, conduct commercial and tactical negotiations, and execute purchase orders and agreements in accordance with defense industry standards and company procedures.
• Monitor deliveries, track lead times, and expedite supply to support strict project schedules, manufacturing lines, and operational needs.

Supplier Manager:

• Lead strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) and evaluate ongoing supplier performance (cost, quality, lead time, and compliance).
• Conduct complex, high-value commercial negotiations and manage long-term strategic contracts with global and domestic suppliers.
• Identify, audit, and onboard new qualified suppliers for advanced electronics and electro-optics domains.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives, supply chain risk mitigation, and continuous improvement processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (Both Roles):

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Hardware/Optical Engineering, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Program Management.

Requirements:

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Procurement Buyer or Supplier Manager in high-tech, defense, electronics, or electro-optical environments - Mandatory.
• Domain Expertise: Strong technical understanding of electronic components (active/passive, PCBs, microelectronics) or electro-optical systems/components - Mandatory.
• Negotiation & Contracts: Proven, strong track record in supplier negotiations, commercial terms, and contract management - Mandatory.
• Systems: Strong proficiency with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Priority) and Microsoft Office – Mandatory.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Management, Logistics, Economics, Electrical/Optical Engineering, or a related field - Advantage.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed defense environment.
