QC Microbiologist (Maternity Cover)

MediWound is seeking a Microbiologist to join our Quality Control team as a maternity cover, with the possibility of a permanent position. The role includes microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products, as well as environmental and water system monitoring. The successful candidate will also support validation activities, analyze and trend results, and maintain laboratory documentation and procedures to ensure the quality of our pharmaceutical products.

What will you do?

• Performance, handling and reading microbial results of environmental monitoring and water systems, including monitoring and trending of data results.
• Performance of Microbiological tests for IPC, Final product and raw materials (including total count techniques and sterility test in a clean room).
• Preparation of microorganisms’ database.
• Executing validation protocols and reports.
• Communicating with external laboratories that perform microbial tests for MediWound.
• Training other employees.
• Handling microbial laboratory infrastructure and facilities.
• Updating Microbiological SOPs, work instructions and forms.

What should you have?

• Formal education (Technical, B.Sc.) in microbiology or biotechnology.
• At least 1 year’s hands-on experience in QC micro lab within the pharmaceutical industry. Preferably with sterile products – Advantage.
• Intelligent and responsible with a positive mind set.
• Hard worker committed and ready to work long hours, when required.
• Independent and highly motivated.
• Excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure to tight timelines.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• English skills: scientific reading. Oral and writing – advantage.
