Procurement Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing activities, ensure material availability for production, maintain strong supplier relationships, and optimize procurement costs and inventory levels.

• Procurement Planning: Review ERP requirements, forecasts, MRP, open purchase orders, and inventory levels to ensure material availability for production.
• Purchase Order Management: Request and evaluate quotations, compare suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, and issue accurate purchase orders.
• Delivery Follow-Up: Confirm delivery dates, monitor open orders, and maintain accurate delivery information in the ERP system.
• Supplier Management: Evaluate supplier performance, resolve issues, and develop alternative suppliers to improve reliability and competitiveness.
• Cost Optimization: Negotiate prices and commercial terms, consolidate orders, and identify measurable cost-saving opportunities.
• Inventory Management: Monitor safety stock, excess and obsolete inventory, and material shortages to balance supply availability and working capital.
• Quality and Regulatory Compliance: Verify material specifications, supplier approvals, quality documentation, and traceability requirements.
• Issue Resolution: Escalate delivery delays, address material shortages, and coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to minimize supply risks.
• ERP and Master Data Management: Maintain accurate supplier information, lead times, prices, minimum order quantities (MOQ), and item master data.
• Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Prepare weekly procurement reports and monitor KPIs, cost savings, supplier performance, and supply chain risks.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Experience in import/export processes and working with customs brokers.
• Experience with Priority ERP – an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
• A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
