Financial Systems Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst with a strong financial background, broad business and technical understanding, and hands-on experience with COBOL development in a Mainframe environment, to join a professional team of systems analysts and developers

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and understand business requirements from customers and business units.
• Analyze existing systems and define solutions aligned with business needs.
• Prepare high-quality functional and technical specification documents.
• Translate business requirements into system requirements and development tasks.
• Support development, testing, and implementation processes through production deployment.
• Collaborate closely with development, QA, architecture, and business teams.
• Participate in strategic projects involving the organization's core banking systems.

Requirements

• Academic degree, practical engineering diploma, or relevant professional training in Information Systems, Technology, Industrial Engineering and Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in systems analysis for core banking systems, specifically COBOL/Mainframe environments, including close collaboration with developers.
• Experience in the banking industry, or the financial sector in general.
• Knowledge of DB2 and SQL Server databases.
• Familiarity with IBM Mainframe systems and COBOL.
• Experience gathering and defining business requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze existing systems and identify gaps between current functionality and business requirements.
• Proven experience translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications, including HLD and DLD documents.
• Experience supporting development, testing, and implementation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Experience managing and tracking work plans, Gantt charts, and project milestones.
• Responsibility for system availability and business continuity.
• Ability to work in a complex, multi-interface environment with matrix-based management structures.

Advantages
