Automation & Manufacturing Engineering – Electromechanical Production

A leading cybersecurity technology company specializing in the development and manufacturing of electromechanical hardware products is seeking an Automation Production Engineer.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Automation Production Engineer to lead end-to-end automation and mechanization initiatives across our manufacturing floor, including electromechanical assembly lines and in-house PCBA production lines.

The role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to identify, plan, and lead strategic initiatives to increase productivity and throughput, reduce reliance on manual labor, and implement advanced mechanization, robotics, and collaborative robot (cobot) solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Analysis & Automation Opportunities: Analyze manufacturing requirements across electromechanical assembly and PCBA processes. Develop a deep understanding of complex product assembly and testing procedures, and identify opportunities to automate manufacturing operations, including assembly, testing, and material handling.
• End-to-End Project Leadership: Lead automation projects from initial requirements definition through design, implementation, integration, and final handover. Coordinate cross-functional teams, including Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality, while managing external contractors, system integrators, and suppliers in Israel and internationally.
• Labor Reduction & Productivity Improvement: Drive the transition from manual operations to automated and mechanized processes to increase productivity, improve throughput, and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Automation & Robotics Integration: Evaluate, develop, and integrate advanced manufacturing solutions, including custom machinery, industrial robots, collaborative robots (cobots), and automated systems for complex and repetitive tasks.
• Process Optimization & Error-Proofing: Design and optimize machine control logic and manufacturing workflows to improve process independence, accuracy, repeatability, and robustness while minimizing human error through Poka-Yoke principles.
• Built-in Quality Assurance: Integrate sensors, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), machine vision systems, and in-process quality controls to prevent defects, improve process reliability, and ensure consistent product quality.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Control, or Industrial Engineering and Management), or a qualified and experienced practical engineer in one of these fields – required.
• Professional Experience: At least 5 years of proven experience in the design, development, implementation, and deployment of industrial automation and mechanization systems – required.
• Electromechanical & PCBA Manufacturing Experience: Proven experience in electromechanical product manufacturing and/or in-depth familiarity with PCBA production and assembly lines. Experience in the semiconductor industry or other multidisciplinary manufacturing environments is a significant advantage.
• English Proficiency: High-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking – required. Ability to understand complex technical documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings, and communicate effectively with international suppliers.
• Independent Learning: Demonstrated ability to independently and rapidly learn new technologies, tools, and systems across hardware, software, and manufacturing automation – required.
• Project & Supplier Management: Proven experience leading projects involving external contractors, system integrators, and suppliers in Israel and abroad.
• Technical Expertise:
• Hands-on experience working with and integrating industrial robots and collaborative robots (cobots) – required.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and peripheral device programming.
• Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
