Research Assistant

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join the Multi-Omics Unit at the Cancer Research Center, Sheba Medical Center.

Our unit supports and conducts a wide range of research projects using advanced technologies in genomics, proteomics, and epigenomics, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), mass-spectrometry-based proteomics, and DNA methylation analysis.

The position involves hands-on laboratory work as well as participation in research projects, including sample preparation, experimental workflows, quality control, data analysis, and interpretation of results.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and process biological samples for NGS, proteomics, and methylation analysis.

- Perform molecular biology and biochemical laboratory techniques.

- Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental procedures, results, and samples.

- Perform basic data analysis and quality control and assist in the interpretation of experimental results.

- Collaborate with research scientists and multidisciplinary team members to optimize protocols and troubleshoot technical challenges.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory methods and workflows.

- Assist with laboratory inventory and ensure proper maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment.

Qualifications:

- MSc or higher degree in Life Sciences or a related field.

- Hands-on experience with molecular biology and/or biochemical methods.

- Experience with NGS, proteomics, methylation analysis, or other advanced molecular technologies is an advantage.

- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
