Business Development & Sales Lead

We are a startup developing a new service for municipalities, local authorities and public bodies, combining a physical product with ongoing service delivery.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Business Development & Sales Lead to secure our first service contracts and build our commercial presence in the UK and major metropolitan areas across Europe.

Reporting directly to the founder, you will manage the entire sales process, from identifying prospects and opening doors to preparing proposals, negotiating terms and signing agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and priorities municipalities, local authorities and public bodies with a clear need for our service.
• Build relationships with decision-makers, budget holders, procurement teams and other relevant stakeholders.
• Lead presentations and demonstrations with support from the founder and technical team.
• Develop service proposals tailored to customer needs, operational requirements and budgets.
• Negotiate ongoing service agreements and take them through to signature.

Requirements

• A proven record of winning service contracts with municipalities, local authorities or public bodies, with personal responsibility for leading the sale.
• Practical understanding of public-sector budgets, procurement and decision-making.
• Experience selling services involving physical equipment or operational delivery.
• Ability to independently build a sales pipeline and advance opportunities through complex sales processes.
• Strong proposal writing, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• A hands-on, independent approach suited to a startup.
• Professional fluency in English and willingness to travel across the UK and Europe. Additional European languages are an advantage.
