Java Software Engineer

Role Description-

• Serving as a Senior Data Platform / Backend Engineer, joining the core Data Platform engineering group to design, build, and maintain central enterprise data pipelines and cloud microservices.
• Architecting and scaling distributed, high-performance backend systems in Java (with additional development in Go), engineered to process large volumes of streaming events with low latency.
• Designing and implementing real-time streaming architectures, event-driven pipelines, and distributed messaging flows utilizing Kafka, Spark, and Flink.
• Developing and optimizing storage layers combining analytical engines (e.g., ClickHouse), NoSQL, and relational databases into a resilient, high-availability platform serving multiple internal and external products.
• Applying modern Data Modeling principles across real-time streaming, micro-batching, and distributed messaging systems.
• Evaluating and adopting emerging Big Data, storage, and streaming technologies, collaborating closely with Product, DevOps, and Security teams.

Requirements-

• B.Sc. in Computer Science / Software Engineering / related technical discipline OR a veteran of an IDF technological unit – Mandatory
• 5+ years of dedicated professional backend development experience in Java, Scala, or Kotlin – Mandatory
• Hands-on development experience with Big Data or stream-processing frameworks (Spark, Flink, ClickHouse, or Kafka) – Mandatory
• Practical understanding of Data Modeling, Streaming vs. Batch processing paradigms, and Distributed Messaging – Mandatory
• Proven background designing and maintaining high-throughput, distributed backend services in cloud environments – Mandatory
• High degree of technical autonomy, strong analytical mindset, and fluent communication skills in English (written and verbal) – Mandatory
