Cobol Programmer

COMBLACK is hiring a Core Banking COBOL Developer for a leading financial institution!

An exciting opportunity to take part in the development and maintenance of mission-critical core banking systems, taking end-to-end ownership of batch workflows and nightly batch processing, from business requirement analysis through to production deployment.

What are we looking for?

• At least 5 years of hands-on COBOL development experience – Mandatory
• Proven experience with JCL, DB2, ISPF / RDz, sequential files, SORT, and working in Mainframe / AS400 environments – Mandatory
• Proven experience supporting mission-critical core systems and critical-path nightly processing workflows – Mandatory
• Experience with financial batch systems such as General Ledger (GL), accounting ledgers, financial transactions, amortization schedules, checks, credit cards, or MASAV files – Significant advantage
• Experience with RDz, API development, EMVS, DPT, or AI tools such as GitHub Copilot – Advantage
• Strong analytical capabilities, system-level perspective, excellent teamwork, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a complex enterprise environment
