About the role

We’re looking for a Senior AI Developer to join BlackEdge Labs and take end-to-end ownership of product development through an AI-assisted engineering lifecycle.

The role combines hands-on backend development, AI-powered developer tooling, and the delivery of LLM-powered capabilities into production. You will build product features as well as the internal AI tools and development processes that enable our engineering teams to work faster and more effectively.

This is a hands-on, applied engineering role at the intersection of backend development, developer tooling, and AI — not a research or data-science position.

What you’ll be doing

·     Owning product features end-to-end — from requirements and technical design through implementation, code review, testing, and production rollout — using AI coding agents as a core part of the development workflow.

·     Designing and maintaining internal AI development tooling, including coding-agent skills and plugins, AI-assisted development pipelines, and evaluation suites.

·     Defining and implementing standards for reviewing, testing, and securing AI-generated code across the development lifecycle.

·     Building and deploying LLM-powered features, including agents, RAG, tool calling, and workflow integrations, using Python, FastAPI, LangGraph, and Azure.

·     Designing and operating scalable, event-driven backend services with the resilience, observability, and security required in a regulated environment.

·     Leading technical design reviews and architectural decisions for agentic and distributed systems.

·     Working closely with Product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-scoped technical solutions.

·     Mentoring engineers on effective and responsible use of AI throughout the development process.

What you’ll need

·     4–5 years of experience as a Backend Developer, Software Engineer, or in a similar hands-on engineering role.

·     B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

·     Strong hands-on proficiency in Python and experience building scalable, resilient, and secure backend systems and APIs.

·     Hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in production codebases, including reviewing and correcting AI-generated code.

·     Production experience with LLM APIs, including tool calling, structured outputs, evaluation, and cost and latency optimization.

·     Experience with asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, and microservice patterns.

·     Solid understanding of cloud and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and observability.

·     Strong security and compliance awareness, including PII handling, secrets management, and auditability.

·     Strong problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

·     Strong communication skills in Hebrew and English.

Nice to have

·     Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar technologies.

·     Experience building internal developer tooling, SDKs, or platform capabilities.

·     Familiarity with vector search and RAG architecture, including pgvector or Azure AI Search.

·     Experience with Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and message brokers such as Azure Service Bus.

·     Experience working in FinTech, lending, real-estate underwriting, or another regulated environment.

·     Experience with Hebrew/RTL document processing or OCR pipelines.
