Senior Biology Researcher – ForeseeD

ForeseeD is hiring a hands-on Senior Biology Researcher who owns experiments end to end: from the research question, through the bench work, to the conclusion.

The role

You will join our biology team as an independent researcher. You will define what needs to be tested, design the experiments, run them yourself, and analyse the data to reach sound conclusions. This is a bench role, not a management or desk role.

Responsibilities

• Identify the open biological questions behind R&D goals, and turn them into clear, testable hypotheses.
• Design experiments independently: controls, sample sizes, protocols and success criteria.
• Run the experiments yourself at the bench, choosing and applying whatever methods the question calls for, from cell biology, staining and microscopy to biochemical, molecular and analytical assays.
• Analyze results quantitatively and statistically, and draw well-supported conclusions.
• Develop, optimize and document protocols and SOPs.
• Present findings and recommendations to the biology, engineering and AI teams.
• Work closely with hardware and algorithm engineers to translate biology into system requirements.

Requirements

• PhD in Biology, Biomedical Engineering or a related field, or an MSc with at least 5 years of research experience in R&D for medical devices or a similar field.
• Proven hands-on experience with microscopy, cell work and staining techniques.
• Strong quantitative skills: comfortable with numbers, statistics and data analysis.
• Proven ability to work independently: asking the right research questions, planning experiments, running them and analyzing the results without needing someone else to plan or analyze for you.
• Creative problem solver who is also highly organized and methodical.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Advantages

• Experience in reproduction, fertility or sperm cell research.
• Experience in molecular biology (PCR, qPCR and related methods).
• Experience with image analysis tools or scripting (e.g. Python, R, ImageJ/Fiji).
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary startup environment.
