Role Highlights

The Business & Competitive Strategist will own Kape Technologies’ overarching business and competitive strategy, turning market, competitor and performance data into clear strategic direction. The role will build a sophisticated competitive intelligence engine, identify growth opportunities and threats, and provide senior leadership and cross-functional teams with the insights needed to make informed business and investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage Kape’s competitive intelligence capabilities, including the tech stack, processes and data sources across tools such as SimilarWeb, pricing intelligence, social listening and market research platforms.
• Continuously monitor competitors and market dynamics across product offerings, pricing, promotions, positioning, traffic, business models, M&A, emerging competitors, alternative technologies and market trends.
• Translate complex market, competitive and performance data into actionable insights, strategic frameworks and clear recommendations for senior leadership.
• Partner with C-suite and senior leaders to assess market opportunities, pressure-test assumptions, define strategic priorities and recommend business pivots.
• Develop financial and strategic business cases for new markets, verticals, products, business models and other growth opportunities, including analysis of market dynamics, unit economics, monetization and competitive positioning.
• Partner with Marketing, Product, Growth and other functions to turn strategic insights into priorities and initiatives, including product and website development, pricing, monetization, partnerships and promotions.
• Provide Marketing and Communications with the competitive intelligence and strategic positioning needed to differentiate Kape and identify opportunities to win.
• Act as a strategic “North Star” across functions, helping teams prioritize resources, align execution and make decisions based on market realities and broader business goals.
  
  

• 6–10+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Competitive Intelligence, Strategy Consulting (e.g. McKinsey, BCG, Bain), or a senior Strategic Product Marketing/Business Strategy role within a global technology or digital company.
• Strong understanding of digital businesses, B2C models, performance marketing, monetization and unit economics.
• Highly quantitative and analytical, with the ability to build market and financial models, analyze complex datasets and turn them into executive-level insights.
• Experience implementing and using competitive intelligence, market research and analytics platforms.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority and constructively challenge assumptions using data and strategic reasoning.
• Objective, commercially driven and highly competitive, with the ability to distinguish meaningful signals from noise in a fast-moving market.
