Freelance DevOps Engineer – Azure

We are looking for a Freelance DevOps Engineer with strong Azure expertise to join a long-term project for a leading defense company. You will be the sole DevOps function within the development team, with responsibility for leading DevOps processes and infrastructure end to end.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced professional who can work independently, take ownership, and drive processes from planning and implementation through ongoing maintenance and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and lead DevOps processes and infrastructure end to end
• Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system reliability and performance
• Work closely with development and engineering teams to support delivery and production environments
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, infrastructure, security, and efficiency

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform
• Strong scripting skills
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of DevOps processes
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes – an advantage
