System Software Engineer - 242898

A leading defense technology company developing advanced space systems is looking for a Software System Engineer to lead complex software projects from concept through delivery.

The role combines system-level ownership, software architecture, requirements definition, and close collaboration with development, integration, testing, product, and engineering teams.

What you’ll do

• Own software systems and subsystems throughout the full development lifecycle

• Translate operational and business needs into clear system and software requirements

• Write system requirements, specifications, and design documents

• Define system architecture, interfaces, and data flows

• Break down system requirements into actionable development tasks

• Lead technical design reviews, including PDR and CDR

• Manage several software projects in parallel and drive delivery

• Work in an Agile environment using Azure DevOps

What we’re looking for

• B.Sc. in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

• 4+ years of experience in system engineering or technical software leadership

• Proven experience defining requirements and writing technical specifications

• Experience leading a software system, product, or project end to end

• Strong understanding of software architecture and development processes

• Experience working closely with multidisciplinary development teams

• Hands-on software development experience or a strong technical software background

• Experience with Agile and Azure DevOps

Experience in defense, aerospace, space systems, or other complex multidisciplinary environments is an advantage.
