Principal Product Management - Microsoft Defender

We are driving the Microsoft Defender (ISOC) product, with the mission to protect all the customer surfaces, be the security team operational layer and the ultimate actuator for the security agents

Responsibilities

• Drive Product Vision & Strategy: Lead end-to-end ownership of product areas, from crafting a compelling vision and strategy to defining roadmaps and delivering impactful outcomes aligned with business goals, focusing on enabling large enterprise & security partners / service providers achieve their desired access and operational model
• Champion an AI-First Mindset: Embed AI into the core of product thinking. Customer-Centric Innovation: Analyze customer feedback, usage data, and market trends to uncover unmet or emerging needs. Build strong relationships with customers and partners to inform product direction and enhance user satisfaction. Define success metrics and KPIs. Use telemetry, experimentation, and analytics to guide decisions, validate hypotheses, and continuously improve product performance.
• Backlog Ownership & Feature Definition: Define and prioritize features with a clear understanding of customer value, technical feasibility, and ROI. Collaborate with engineering, design, and research teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Agile Execution & Delivery: Partner closely with engineering leads & partner teams to ensure focused execution, identify quick wins, and respond rapidly to evolving customer needs and security threats.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work across Microsoft product teams and external partners to deliver integrated, end-to-end experiences. Identify synergies and lead joint initiatives that amplify product value.
  
  

Qualifications

• You have at least 10+ years of experience in cross-functional, cross-group product management roles in Cyber security or enterprise management solutions, driving impactful outcomes across diverse teams.
• You have deep understanding of B2B and enterprise software and experience working with large, global customers and service providers.
• Track record of leading large-scale product initiatives across engineering, design, research, marketing, sales, and customer success.
  
  

Preferred Qualification

• Background in Security, Cloud, or SaaS domains.
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
• Proven expertise in product strategy development, including product/market fit analysis, competitive landscape evaluation, and long-term vision setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong drive to create meaningful impact.
• Experience in early-stage product incubation or startups is highly preferred, including taking products from ideation through MVP and iterative enhancement.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
