Role Description For a company in Sofia, but the job is in Israel, for The VP R&D will lead research and development activities specifically within the igaming, gambling, and betting domain, overseeing end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives. This full-time, on-site role in Israel includes managing R&D teams, defining technical vision, and setting development standards to ensure high-quality, compliant, and scalable products. Day-to-day responsibilities involve coordinating product and engineering roadmaps, prioritizing features, guiding architecture decisions, and monitoring execution across multiple projects. The VP R&D will collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and data teams to align technology solutions with business objectives in regulated igaming and betting markets. The role also includes mentoring technical leaders, driving innovation, implementing best practices, and continuously improving development processes, tools, and methodologies.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience managing R&D or engineering organizations in igaming, gambling, or betting domains, with a track record of delivering high-traffic, real-time platforms.
• Strong background in software development and system architecture, including distributed systems, APIs, and database-driven applications relevant to betting or gaming operations.
• Proven ability to define and execute technology strategy, set development standards, and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Experience establishing and optimizing development methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum), CI/CD pipelines, code review practices, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management, and data integrity considerations in igaming and betting environments.
• Demonstrated skills in building, mentoring, and retaining multidisciplinary technology teams, including developers, QA, DevOps, and architects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with capability to balance business needs, technical constraints, and time-to-market.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience collaborating with product, business, and executive leadership.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Hebrew or additional languages is an advantage.
