Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team.

In this position, you will take ownership of end-to-end delivery for critical data-driven features, orchestrating complex logic across cloud and embedded systems. An ideal candidate is a highly motivated system thinker with a strong background in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and handling large-scale telemetry data.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as technology lead within the group — drive technical direction and decisions across services.
• Participate in design meetings and review architecture proposals before implementation.
• Own code review standards and ensure consistent quality across the team.
• Lead or support production incident response, including root cause analysis and postmortems.
• Develop deep working knowledge across all group services — comfortable diving into unfamiliar codebases when needed.
• Mentor engineers on best practices, system design, and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related subject.
• 8+ years of backend development experience, with strong expertise in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Proven experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming.
• Solid understanding of database technologies and data access optimization, including SQL (MariaDB) and NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work in cross-functional environments.

Advantages:

• Proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Pandas) and data orchestration pipelines like Apache Airflow.
• Previous experience working with IoT platforms, hardware orchestration, or algorithmic optimization systems.
• Familiarity with operationalizing ML models or building scalable data platforms.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
