Mechanical Engineer 2104

Production Floor, part of the TSG Group, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for an Engineering & NPI role!

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional engineering support to customers’ R&D teams
• Develop an in-depth understanding of defense products and systems
• Understand the mechanical and electrical design of the product, including system interfaces
• Assess product readiness for manufacturing and assembly
• Lead NPI processes and product transfer from R&D to production
• Implement design adaptations and improvements to enhance manufacturability, assembly, quality, and cost
• Prepare production files, drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and engineering documentation
• Define manufacturing and assembly processes, tooling, fixtures, and testing methods
• Work closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers
• Resolve engineering issues during manufacturing and assembly
• Provide professional support to assembly lines and integration processes
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
• Report directly to the VP of R&D and Engineering
• The role includes work at the company’s offices as well as at customer sites

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, and transfer from R&D to production
• Hands-on experience with NPI processes
• Extensive experience working with defense products and systems
• Familiarity with requirements, standards, and quality processes in the defense industry
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing technologies, materials, and production processes
• Experience in mechanical design and preparation of drawings and production documentation
• Understanding of multidisciplinary systems combining mechanics, electrical systems, and electronics
• Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors
• High level of English, both written and spoken
• Strong independent learning ability and attention to detail
• System-level thinking combined with the ability to dive into technical details
• Ability to lead processes and work effectively across multiple interfaces simultaneously
• High level of ownership, initiative, proactive thinking, and problem-solving skills
