field service engineer - Level 2

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Field Service Engineer (Level 2) to join a leading global high-tech company specializing in advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

In this role, you will execute advanced installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, and system optimization on complex semiconductor equipment with minimal supervision. You will serve as a technical reference point, provide advanced troubleshooting expertise to ensure customer satisfaction, and mentor Level 1 engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advanced Maintenance & Repair: Perform complex troubleshooting, diagnostic procedures, and repairs on semiconductor equipment and systems.
• System Installation & Optimization: Install, configure, and optimize advanced manufacturing tools to meet strict performance and output specifications.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and thorough inspections for complex equipment configurations.
• Project & Field Leadership: Lead service activities for small-scale projects, including tool modifications, parts management, tool calibration, and timeline management.
• Technical Support & Escalation: Provide direct technical support to clients and escalate critical issues to senior engineering teams when necessary.
• Root-Cause Analysis: Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring faults and contribute to corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentorship & Customer Training: Mentor and guide junior engineers on equipment diagnostics and service processes. Collaborate with customers to train their staff on tool operation and basic maintenance.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate service records and prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings, actions taken, and recommendations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience (One of the following):
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer in the semiconductor industry (or equivalent technical support).
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on practical experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
• Minimum 4 years of practical experience in complex multidisciplinary technical support roles.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, equipment, and how tool performance directly impacts customer production output.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.
• Driving License: Valid driver’s license – required.
• Mobility & Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours according to operational requirements.
