The Role

VYBS is looking for a Core Team Backend Software Engineer to help build the technical foundation of our platform from the ground up.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Tel Aviv. You'll work at the heart of our engineering team, designing and building the backend systems, data infrastructure, and integrations that power our consumer experience.

This is a high-ownership role with significant impact. You'll have the opportunity to shape architecture and technical decisions, solve complex engineering problems at scale, and build systems that directly influence how millions of players discover games and earn rewards.

Working closely with the founding team and other engineers, you'll help define our engineering culture, technical standards, and infrastructure as we scale.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and own backend services and systems at the core of our consumer platform.
• Design scalable APIs, services, and distributed systems that support high-volume consumer experiences.
• Build and evolve complex data infrastructure powering product, personalization, analytics, and business-critical workflows.
• Work with large-scale data pipelines and systems using technologies such as Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, Snowflake, and cloud infrastructure.
• Develop integrations with leading gaming, advertising, and third-party platforms.
• Make thoughtful architectural decisions around scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering teams to turn ambiguous problems into robust technical solutions.
• Own projects end-to-end — from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Identify bottlenecks, technical risks, and opportunities to improve our systems before they become problems.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, testing, observability, and development processes.
• Help shape the technical foundation and engineering culture of an early-stage company.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Exceptional coding skills in a high-level, type-safe language such as Java, C#, TypeScript, Go, Rust, or similar.
• Proven experience building and operating cloud-based, service-oriented systems.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, databases, distributed systems, and software design.
• Experience building reliable and scalable production systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous technical challenges independently.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and familiarity with caching and messaging systems.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them from idea to production.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a small, highly collaborative team.

Nice to Have

• Experience building production systems with Go.
• Experience with Kafka, Redis, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing and operating data infrastructure or large-scale data pipelines.
• Experience with high-scale consumer products.
• Experience integrating with gaming, advertising, attribution, payments, or other third-party platforms.
• Experience at an early-stage startup or as a founding/early engineering team member.
• Experience as a software entrepreneur or having built products from the ground up.
• Experience with observability, performance optimization, and distributed systems.
• Background in mobile gaming, adtech, consumer tech, AI, or data-driven products.
