Engineering Team Lead – Full Stack / Backend

An early-stage AI startup, founded in 2025, building an AI Business Partner for small and medium-sized businesses.

Our platform connects to the channels businesses use to communicate with their customers, responds based on the business’s knowledge, personality, and tone of voice, and acts as a business advisor — identifying growth opportunities, recommending actions, and executing automations that help businesses grow.

The company has raised a $19M Seed round, The Israeli team currently has 14 people, with an additional presence in the US.

The Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Team Lead to join us at an early stage and play a key role in shaping our product, architecture, and engineering team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining people management with deep technical involvement in the codebase and architecture. The position is Full Stack, with a strong Backend focus, and is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people while staying close to the technology and solving complex technical problems.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, both technically and professionally
• Own the design, architecture, and implementation of complex product features and systems
• Build Full Stack features, with a strong emphasis on Backend
• Work with Node.js and React in an AWS environment
• Build and evolve Agentic AI systems and multiple integrations
• Work hands-on with LLMs, Claude, and similar AI models and tools
• Design, deploy, and operate AI-powered systems in production
• Build systems around real-time data, dynamic context, and business- and customer-specific knowledge
• Drive technical decisions and establish engineering best practices
• Lead code reviews, development processes, and engineering standards
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and our US-based teams
• Have a direct impact on the architecture and technical foundation of the product at a very early stage

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or Tech Lead with people-management responsibility
• Strong hands-on Backend engineering experience, alongside solid Full Stack capabilities
• Strong experience with Node.js and React
• Experience working with AWS
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technologies
• Proven experience building, deploying, and operating AI systems in production
• Experience working on complex systems, distributed systems, or products with multiple integrations
• Strong technical leadership and architectural decision-making skills, with the ability to dive deep into implementation details when needed
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering quality and best practices
• Strong ownership and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment
• Strong English communication skills and experience working in a global environment
