Sales Operations Engineer

We're looking for a Sales Operations Engineer to bridge customer success and cloud engineering. You'll own the operational backbone of customer onboarding and ongoing AWS account management executing structured, repeatable processes while growing your technical depth in cloud architecture, security, and optimization. This is a unique hybrid role: part operational excellence, part hands-on cloud engineering, all mentored by senior engineers.

Every onboarding checklist you refine, every cost optimization you implement, and every security baseline you enforce directly impacts customer success and Directeam's reputation. You'll own end-to-end customer journeys and grow into a well-rounded cloud engineer.

What You'll Do

Customer Onboarding & Offboarding

• Onboard new customers onto AWS - set up secure, multi-account landing zones, account structure, guardrails, and baselines, mentored by senior engineers.
• Build and refine onboarding checklists, runbooks, and configuration playbooks to make the process repeatable and predictable.
• Off board customers cleanly and safely - decommission accounts and resources with the right controls, data migration, and handover documentation.

AWS Security & Compliance

• Apply security best practices across customer environments: IAM policies, guardrails, security baselines, and monitoring aligned to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Work with customers to implement Security Hub, GuardDuty, and config controls; validate compliance with customer requirements.

Operational Support

• Provide day-to-day support across customer AWS environments - monitoring, troubleshooting, and keeping systems healthy.
• Respond to alerts, investigate infrastructure issues, and escalate appropriately.
• Maintain visibility into customer account health and proactively surface risks (unused resources, security drift, cost anomalies).

Documentation & Process Improvement

• Keep onboarding checklists, runbooks, and configuration documentation clear, current, and repeatable.
• Document lessons learned and improve processes after each customer engagement.
• Collaborate with the team to standardize best practices and automation.

Collaboration

• Work closely with senior cloud engineers, solutions architects, and customers.
• Participate in customer calls and technical discussions, learn from senior team members.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and team retrospectives.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Eager to Learn - Genuinely wants to go deeper into the AWS stack, security, FinOps, cloud architecture, and DevOps.
• Foundational AWS & Cloud Knowledge - Understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) and cloud concepts.
• Problem-Solving & Communication - Strong analytical skills and clear, direct communication (written and verbal).
• Language Fluency - Hebrew fluent (written and spoken), English high-level (written and spoken).
• Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-Have

• Cost Tooling - Exposure to Umbrella cost, understanding of cloud cost management practices.
• AWS Landing Zones - Hands-on experience with Landing Zone Accelerator (LZA), AWS Organizations, or Control Tower.
• AWS Security - Familiarity with IAM best practices, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config, or KMS.
• Infrastructure as Code - Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• CI/CD & DevOps - Exposure to GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar; Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) knowledge.
• AI & ML on AWS - Curiosity about or hands-on exposure to generative AI on AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker) or Anthropic's Claude API. A real differentiator on our team.
• AWS Certifications - AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect – Associate, or similar.
