Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, multidisciplinary Verification, Validation & System Integration Engineer to join our core System Engineering team.

In this pivotal role, you will serve as the professional authority for the project’s functional testing, verification, validation, and system integration activities. You will own the complete integration lifecycle—from defining the V&V strategy and laboratory architecture to assessing system maturity ahead of customer delivery and field trials.

This position is designed for an engineer with a holistic understanding of complex, large-scale systems and a strong background in integration, system testing, test architecture, or simulation-driven validation.

Key Responsibilities

V&V Strategy and Matrix Management

* Define the project’s overall verification and validation strategy.

* Build, maintain, and manage the V&V matrix throughout all development phases.

* Ensure that every system requirement is mapped to the appropriate verification method and test level.

* Track validation coverage, outstanding activities, and system readiness.

Laboratory Integration and Test Architecture

* Design and implement system integration plans within the laboratory environment.

* Define which system capabilities and requirements can be validated exclusively in the lab.

* Characterize laboratories, simulations, testing equipment, interfaces, and supporting infrastructure.

* Evaluate make-or-buy decisions for required hardware, simulations, and testing capabilities.

System Synchronization and Timing

* Review and approve timing and synchronization designs across test systems.

* Analyse system behaviour at high levels of technical resolution.

* Align system performance with the operational limitations of test processes and environments.

* Identify and resolve timing dependencies across multidisciplinary system components.

Complex Scenario Design

* Design intricate, system-level testing scenarios for complex System of Systems environments.

* Translate operational requirements into structured and measurable validation scenarios.

* Coordinate testing activities across software, hardware, simulation, and integration teams.

Configuration and Lifecycle Management

* Oversee configuration control for operational system versions.

* Manage software baselines and version freezes within PLM/ALM environments.

* Maintain clear visibility of tested configurations, validated capabilities, open gaps, and pending activities.

* Ensure traceability throughout the testing and integration lifecycle.

Risk and Financial Management

* Consolidate technical and commercial proposals for testing and simulation infrastructures.

* Evaluate reuse opportunities across systems, laboratories, and test capabilities.

* Identify technical risks and lead mitigation activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Customer Reviews and Delivery

* Lead technical reviews covering requirements, completed tests, results, gaps, and corrective actions.

* Assess the overall maturity and operational readiness of the system.

* Present final verification and validation results directly to customers.

* Support deployment preparation and field trials.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.

* At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, system testing, V&V, or test system engineering.

* Demonstrated experience working with complex, multidisciplinary, large-scale systems such as defence, aerospace, medical devices, or other System of Systems environments.

* Proven experience developing V&V plans, integration concepts, traceability matrices, and system-level validation strategies.

* Deep technical understanding of system synchronization, timing dependencies, interfaces, and simulation-driven testing environments.

* Strong experience with configuration management tools and version-freezing processes within PLM or ALM structures.

* Ability to design and lead complex integration and testing scenarios across multiple engineering disciplines.

* Strong technical leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to lead effective technical reviews and coordinate multiple stakeholders and development teams.

* Excellent capacity for independently learning and mastering complex technical systems.
