Role Description: This is a tenure-track faculty position at all levels in Experimental Aerodynamics and/or Aeroacoustics at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Tel Aviv University. This is an on-site position in Israel. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting experimental research in aerodynamics and aeroacoustics, designing and managing laboratory setups, supervising student projects, and publishing results in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. The faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new curricula in relevant topics, and participate in academic committees and departmental activities. Additional responsibilities include applying for research funding, building collaborations with other research groups and industry partners, and advancing the school’s research and educational mission.
Qualifications
- Strong background in experimental aerodynamics and/or aeroacoustics, including design, execution, and analysis of laboratory experiments.
- Experience with relevant measurement techniques and instrumentation (e.g., wind tunnels, flow visualization, pressure and velocity measurements, acoustic sensors).
- Demonstrated research record with publications in reputable journals and conferences in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, or aeroacoustics.
- Ability to teach and develop courses at undergraduate and graduate levels in mechanical engineering and related fields.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Commitment to mentoring students, supervising theses, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in securing or contributing to research grants and external funding is an advantage.
- Prior academic or relevant industrial research experience in fluid dynamics, noise control, or experimental methods is beneficial.
- Willingness to engage in departmental service, outreach, and collaboration with international and local research partners.
