Student Legal Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a talented law student to join our team as a Student Legal Engineer, working at the intersection of law, AI, and product. You will work hands-on with Lizzy and leading AI models, perform real-world legal tasks, evaluate model performance, and help shape and improve our product and legal AI workflows.

Key responsibilities include:

Legal AI work & testing: Perform real-world legal tasks using Lizzy and different AI models, testing their ability to analyze, draft, review, and work with legal documents.

AI model evaluation: Evaluate and compare AI models across a variety of legal use cases, identifying strengths, limitations, and areas for improvement.

Product & feature development: Contribute to the ideation, development, and testing of new product features and legal AI workflows, bringing a legal and user perspective into the product development process.

Customer & legal workflow insights: Work directly with lawyers, law firms, and legal teams to understand their workflows, needs, and challenges, and translate them into actionable product insights.

Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Product, AI, and other teams across Lizzy to improve the product and the way legal professionals use AI.

Requirements:

Law student: 2nd year or above.

Strong technological orientation: Comfortable working with new technologies and highly interested in AI and its application to legal work.

Excellent legal and analytical thinking: Able to understand legal tasks, break down complex problems, and critically evaluate results.

Product thinking: Able to identify user needs, think creatively about solutions, and contribute ideas for new features and workflows.

Strong communication skills: Comfortable working directly with users and collaborating with different teams.

Team player: Collaborative, proactive, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Advantages:

Experience with AI tools: Hands-on familiarity with generative AI tools and different AI models.
