The Chief Economist's Office at the Israeli Ministry of Finance serves as the flagship government body responsible for national macroeconomic policy, economic forecasting, state revenues, and international financial relations. Within the office, the Research and Policy Division leads rigorous empirical research while playing a direct, hands-on role in formulating, designing, and shaping national economic policy across the Ministry. The division is deeply involved in drafting major reforms, formulating strategic economic policy, and driving key regulatory initiatives that shape Israel's economy.

We are seeking an outstanding Senior Economist & Policy Director to join our team and lead strategic, high-stakes national policy initiatives. Qualifications

Education: Academic degree in Economics (Bachelor’s or Master’s) – Mandatory. (e.g., B.Sc. in Mathematics/Exact Sciences combined with an M.A. in Economics).

Professional Experience:

• 4 years of relevant professional experience for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree; OR
• 3 years of relevant professional experience for candidates holding a Master’s degree.
• Relevant fields of experience include: Economic research, public policy formulation, regulatory assessment, corporate strategy, financial analysis, or high-tech market and ecosystem analysis.

Strategic & Analytical Excellence: Superior analytical capabilities with demonstrated expertise in evaluating geo-strategic dynamics, international relations, national security considerations, and global macroeconomic trends.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Hebrew and English, with the ability to synthesize complex economic data into actionable policy recommendations and executive briefs.

Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder and inter-ministerial processes under tight deadlines.
