Credit Manager

For one of our clients, a company operating in the financial services and credit sector, we are seeking an experienced Credit Manager to lead its credit function and oversee the ongoing management of its credit portfolio.

This is a senior, hands-on position combining team leadership, credit underwriting, portfolio oversight, and process improvement. The Credit Manager will be responsible for maintaining high professional standards while supporting efficient decision-making without compromising the company’s risk framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and professionally manage the company’s credit team, including oversight and quality control of the team’s work.
• Take overall responsibility for the ongoing management, monitoring, and periodic review of the credit portfolio.
• Manage the company’s Credit Committee process and participate in credit discussions and decisions.
• Oversee the preparation of comprehensive credit applications and remain directly involved in complex cases.
• Analyze borrowers’ financial statements, business performance, funding needs, and risk profiles.
• Conduct in-depth discussions with credit applicants and formulate well-supported professional recommendations.
• Continuously improve credit processes, turnaround times, and working methods while maintaining appropriate risk and control standards.
• Collaborate closely with relationship management, sales, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a senior credit management role—required.
• Prior experience as a Credit Analyst in a commercial or corporate banking division, or with a non-bank lender—required.
• Proven experience managing credit professionals and overseeing their work.
• Strong expertise in financial statement analysis, business analysis, and credit risk assessment.
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex credit applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong professional judgment, attention to detail, and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Willingness to work in a demanding, high-intensity environment and invest additional hours when required.
