Role Description The Resident Doctor (mitmahe) in psychiatry is a full-time, on-site role based in Nahariyya. The resident will participate in psychiatric evaluations, follow-up consultations, and ongoing management of inpatients and outpatients under the supervision of senior psychiatrists. Daily responsibilities include conducting clinical interviews, reviewing medical histories, formulating diagnoses, and developing treatment plans that may incorporate pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, participation in ward rounds, case conferences, and family meetings, as well as documentation of clinical encounters and adherence to institutional protocols. The resident will also engage in structured educational activities, such as seminars, supervision sessions, and potentially research or quality improvement projects, contributing to both personal professional growth and the enhancement of clinical services.
Qualifications

• Completed medical degree (MD or equivalent) and eligibility for psychiatric residency in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Foundational knowledge of psychiatry, including diagnostic criteria, psychopharmacology, and basic psychotherapeutic approaches.
• Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, risk evaluation, and treatment planning within a multidisciplinary setting.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams, including clear clinical documentation.
• Ability to work in a high-demand clinical environment, manage time effectively, and respond appropriately to acute psychiatric situations.
• Commitment to ethical practice, patient-centered care, and cultural sensitivity in working with diverse populations.
