Economic Analysis Team Manager

For one of our clients, a leading diversified business group, we are seeking an Economic Analysis Team Manager to establish, lead, and develop the Group’s economic analysis function.

Reporting to the CFO, this is a highly visible role combining team leadership with substantial hands-on analytical work. The position covers transaction and investment analysis, financial modelling, budgeting and performance management, and support for the Group’s business development activity.

The role provides exposure to a broad portfolio of businesses across real estate, retail, and energy, with direct access to senior management and key business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish the Group’s economic analysis function, including its methodologies, processes, and professional standards.
• Recruit, manage, mentor, and develop the economic analysis team.
• Evaluate the financial viability of transactions, investments, and strategic projects.
• Build detailed financial models, business scenarios, and valuations.
• Analyze the performance of the Group’s businesses, including revenue, costs, financing structures, profitability, and key performance indicators.
• Lead the Group’s annual budgeting process and oversee monthly budget-versus-actual analysis.
• Develop financial and business forecasts to support management decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability and optimize business performance.
• Translate commercial agreements and transaction structures into financial models and assess their economic implications.
• Conduct market and industry analyses and support business development initiatives.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior management and work closely with business leaders across the Group.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or another relevant field from a leading academic institution.
• At least seven years of relevant post-graduate professional experience.
• At least four years in a substantial economic analysis or corporate finance role within a publicly traded company, a large private organization, a consulting firm, or the economic advisory practice of Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG, or BDO.
• Previous experience managing employees.
• Extensive hands-on experience in financial modelling, investment analysis, and valuation.
• Experience in at least one of the following sectors: infrastructure, real estate, energy, or retail.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Strong command of English.
