VP R&D

The Role

We’re looking for a VP R&D who knows how to lead teams, design systems, and deliver real products – fast.

This is a senior leadership role with full ownership over architecture, team, and execution. You’ll be responsible for building and scaling the R&D organization behind SOURCIX’s next-generation AI-driven platform.

You’ll work closely with the CEO, product, and business teams to turn complex ideas into scalable, production-ready systems—while building a team that can execute at high velocity.

This role requires strong technical judgment, hands-on understanding, and leadership maturity.

About SOURCIX

SOURCIX is building an AI-native platform for custom mechanical procurement – a space still largely driven by manual workflows, fragmented supplier networks, and slow decision-making.

Our system analyzes production files (CAD, drawings, specs), understands manufacturing requirements, and matches them with the most suitable suppliers using machine learning and large-scale data models. Beyond matching, we provide real-time pricing insights, multi-offer optimization, and continuous feedback loops that improve outcomes over time.

We’re not building a marketplace. We’re building a self-improving decision engine for manufacturing.

• Founded by a technical team with deep experience in mechanical engineering, CNC, and high-pressure R&D environments
• Combining AI/ML, LLMs, and domain-specific data to solve real industrial problems
• Building toward a system that learns from every transaction and continuously improves pricing, matching, and supplier performance
  
  

• Define and lead the R&D vision for SOURCIX’s next-generation platform
• Build and manage a high-performing, hands-on engineering team (full-stack, AI, data)
• Drive a culture of speed, ownership, and product-first execution
• Translate business goals into clear technical strategy and execution
• Own the full development lifecycle – from idea to production
  
  

• Design and lead the architecture of AI-native systems and scalable SaaS platforms
• Build systems that combine:
• LLM-based workflows
• Internal / self-trained models
• Data pipelines and feedback loops
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance from day one
• Make critical decisions on tech stack, infrastructure, and system design
  

• Implement modern development workflows using AI tools (LLMs, copilots, agents)
• Build systems that generate, evaluate, and improve themselves over time
• Drive rapid experimentation and tight iteration cycles
• Integrate AI deeply into both the product and the development process
  
  

• Work closely with product to define and ship high-impact features quickly
• Balance speed vs. quality – ship fast, but build systems that last
• Turn complex manufacturing and procurement problems into simple, usable products
• Continuously improve the system using real-world data and feedback loops
  
  

• Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams
• Communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Lead hiring, mentoring, and scaling of the R&D team
  
  

• 10+ years of software development experience, with 6+ years in leadership
• Strong hands-on experience building and scaling complex systems
• Proven experience leading full-stack teams (frontend, backend, infra)
• Deep understanding of system architecture, APIs, and data flows
• Experience with AI/ML systems, LLMs, or data-driven platforms
• Ability to move fast, make decisions, and operate in uncertainty
• Strong ownership mindset – builder, not just manager
  
  

• Experience building AI-native products or developer tools
• Background in marketplaces, SaaS platforms, or complex workflows
• Experience with self-learning systems, feedback loops, or model training
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.)
• Experience in manufacturing, procurement, or industrial domains
