DWI is a global single-family office investing in and building businesses with a private-equity discipline, across operating companies, longevity, high tech, real estate and financial assets.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an accomplished data scientist and engineer to lead the design and construction of AI-driven platforms for the investment firm and for its portfolio companies. Beyond the platform work, you will take part in deep business research, lead AI-driven turnarounds within portfolio companies and help build new enterprises from the ground up.

This is a hands-on position. You will define the architecture, write the code, bring systems into production and then scale them, working directly with the Chief Investment Officer and with the leadership of our portfolio companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design and delivery of AI-driven platforms for deal sourcing, due diligence, portfolio monitoring and investment research
• Build the data infrastructure and analytics layer across structured and unstructured sources: financial data, documents, market feeds and internal systems
• Take LLM-based and agentic workflows from prototype to dependable production tools used daily by the investment team
• Work alongside portfolio company management to identify high-value AI and data opportunities and deliver them end to end
• Contribute to deep business research, AI-led turnarounds and the formation of new ventures
• Set technical standards, select the stack and, in time, recruit and lead a small engineering team
• Report to the Chief Investment Officer

PROFILE

• Eight or more years across data science, machine learning and software engineering, with a demonstrable record of shipping production systems rather than models alone
• Strong written and spoken English is a firm requirement: you will work daily with international counterparties, advisers and portfolio companies
• Strong, current knowledge of LLMs and AI-driven platforms, including agent frameworks, retrieval architectures and evaluation in production
• Experience building AI-based platforms or products from inception to production
• Deep, practical command of data analysis and statistics: you can interrogate a dataset rigorously and defend your conclusions
• Strong Python, with solid engineering foundations in SQL, APIs and cloud infrastructure
• Capable across both back end and front end: data pipelines, services and models as well as the user-facing tools that make them usable
• Strong self-learning skills: you pick up new tools, frameworks and domains quickly and independently
• Open-minded, intellectually curious and pragmatic: you choose what works over what is fashionable
• At ease with considerable autonomy in a small, senior environment
