Finance and Operations Controller

The Finance and Operations Controller is responsible for managing the company’s financial health, operational efficiency, and SaaS infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of finance and technology, requiring a candidate who can maintain strict financial discipline while driving automation and scalability across business operations.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Own the budget management process, including monthly tracking, long-term financial planning, and quarterly forecasting.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, track KPIs, and provide actionable financial insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
• Reporting: Create and maintain dynamic financial dashboards to improve financial visibility and reporting accuracy.
• Bookkeeping & Compliance: Coordinate bookkeeping, payroll, and tax reporting (IL/US). Oversee internal audits, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance.

• Vendor & SaaS Management: Manage the company’s SaaS stack, including procurement, license seat management, and usage auditing for tools such as AWS, HubSpot, Monday.com, and various security/dev platforms.
• Workflow Automation: Identify and implement automation for manual operational and financial workflows to improve data accuracy and scalability.

• Contract Management: Manage vendor contracts, customer agreements, and internal compliance documentation.
• Process Optimization: Continuously improve operational procedures, including onboarding workflows and internal disciplinary regulations.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Relevant Experience: 3–5+ years of finance/operations experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology company.
• Financial Expertise: Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting skills.
• Systems & Analytics: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience with financial models, dashboards, SaaS/vendor management, and systems such as QuickBooks.
• Ownership & Initiative: Proactive, reliable, and able to manage end-to-end responsibilities with minimal supervision while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Communication: Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial insights, risks, and recommendations.
• Adaptability: Fast learner who is comfortable working across functions in a scaling startup environment.
• Automation & Compliance: Experience with automation tools and SOC 2/ISO 27001 compliance is an advantage.
