Back End Developer

Investing.com, a leading global financial news and data platform, is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our R&D team.

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will design and build the backend systems behind AI-powered products that automate complex workflows and support intelligent, autonomous processes. You will play a key role in building agentic and multi-agent systems, designing the architecture and infrastructure that enable AI agents to work autonomously, while taking ownership of complex technical challenges from design through production.

What You'll Do

Build Scalable Backend Systems

• Design and develop high-performance, scalable backend services and systems.
• Own complex technical projects end-to-end, from architecture and technical design through implementation, testing, and production.
• Design and evolve system architectures with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Work with large-scale data, databases, and distributed systems.
• Refactor and modernize existing systems and infrastructure to support evolving product and AI needs.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering best practices.

Create AI & Agentic Systems

• Design and develop backend infrastructure for AI-powered products and workflows.
• Work with agentic systems and multi-agent architectures, building systems that can independently perform complex tasks and workflows.
• Integrate and orchestrate AI agents, tools, and services into reliable production systems.
• Explore and apply emerging AI technologies to solve real product and engineering challenges.

Collaborate & Deliver

• Work closely with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Take ownership of technical decisions and proactively identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.
• Work independently on complex problems while contributing to a collaborative engineering environment.

What You'll Bring

Technical Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development.
• Proven experience building and maintaining production systems at scale.
• Strong experience with backend development and system design.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Experience working with SQL databases, caching solutions, and cloud environments, preferably GCP.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Python experience is a strong advantage.

AI & Agentic Systems

• Hands-on experience designing and building AI-powered systems, with a strong focus on agentic and multi-agent architectures.
• Experience building systems where AI agents can independently execute complex tasks, use tools, and coordinate across multiple steps or agents.
• Ability to design the backend infrastructure, orchestration, and integrations required to run agentic systems reliably in production.
• Experience working with modern AI development tools and frameworks and applying them to build practical, production-ready solutions.

Domain & Ways of Working

• Strong understanding of financial markets and financial content.
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and navigate complex technical challenges.
