Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Journalist role based in Dar es-Salaam. The Journalist will research, verify, and report on news stories, producing clear and accurate content for broadcast and digital platforms. Daily tasks include conducting interviews, gathering information from a variety of sources, writing news articles and scripts, and preparing press releases as needed. The role also involves collaborating with editors, producers, and broadcasting teams to shape story angles and ensure adherence to editorial guidelines and deadlines. The Journalist will be expected to monitor current events, respond quickly to breaking news, and maintain high ethical standards in all reporting activities.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Writing and News Writing skills for clear, accurate, and engaging journalism.
• Candidates should possess Research skills to verify information, identify reliable sources, and develop well-informed stories.
• Candidates should possess Broadcasting skills for presenting content on-air or preparing scripts and segments for broadcast.
• Candidates should possess experience with Press Releases, including drafting concise and informative communications for media and public audiences.
• Candidates should possess excellent spoken and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Kiswahili is highly beneficial.
• Candidates should possess strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadline pressure in a dynamic newsroom environment.
• Candidates should possess a relevant educational background, such as a degree or diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field.
• Candidates should possess understanding of journalistic ethics, fact-checking practices, and familiarity with digital news and social media platforms.
