As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented, organized and commercially aware Accountant to manage our financial records and support the company's financial operations.

The Role

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, supporting financial reporting and ensuring that Habav’s financial processes are efficient and well controlled.

The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, good analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving business environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
- Record and process financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Process supplier invoices and assist with accounts payable.
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, receivables and payables.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts.
- Monitor cash flow and provide regular updates to management.
- Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting and expense monitoring.
- Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
- Support payroll and other routine financial administration.
- Assist with tax and statutory compliance requirements.
- Liaise with banks, suppliers, customers, auditors and relevant authorities when required.
- Identify discrepancies and support timely resolution of financial issues.
- Assist in strengthening internal financial controls and accounting processes.
- Provide financial information and analysis to support management decision-making.

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience in accounting or a related finance role.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (K) or progress toward qualification is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, invoicing and financial reporting.
- Good knowledge of Kenyan tax and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Experience in logistics, freight, transportation or other B2B businesses is an advantage.
