Senior Data Scientist – Personalisation & E-commerce Intelligence

Our technology is already used by leading international brands to improve product intelligence, discovery, recommendations and styling experiences. We are now expanding our platform and looking for a senior data professional to help shape the next generation of intelligent e-commerce experiences.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Data Scientist with strong experience in personalisation, recommendation systems, behavioural data or customer journey optimisation.

You will work closely with our product and engineering teams to design the data foundations, models and experimentation frameworks behind new customer-facing capabilities.

This is a product-building role, not a traditional reporting or BI position. You will help turn complex behavioural and product data into measurable improvements in the online shopping experience.

• Design data frameworks for understanding digital shopping journeys.
• Define the events, signals and data structures required to support personalisation.
• Develop approaches for interpreting customer behaviour and intent.
• Build and improve recommendation, ranking and decisioning methodologies.
• Combine behavioural, product and contextual data to support customer-facing experiences.
• Design and evaluate A/B tests and other controlled experiments.
• Define performance metrics and measurement methodologies.
• Work with engineering to take data-science capabilities into production.
• Identify data-quality, privacy, scalability and performance requirements.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to product, engineering and business stakeholders.

• Significant experience in data science, personalisation, recommendation systems, search, ranking or customer journey analytics.
• Proven experience building data products or models used in production.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience working with event-based behavioural data.
• Strong understanding of experimentation, A/B testing and performance measurement.
• Ability to translate business and product challenges into practical data solutions.
• Strong product thinking and commercial awareness.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience in e-commerce, retail, fashion or marketplaces.
• Experience with recommendation or ranking systems.
• Experience working with large product catalogues.
• Knowledge of real-time data pipelines and event-tracking architectures.
• Experience with customer data platforms, vector databases or machine-learning infrastructure.
• Understanding of attribution, first-party data and privacy-by-design.
• Previous experience establishing a new data capability or technical framework.

You will help Selectika establish a robust and scalable data foundation for its next stage of product development, introduce a structured experimentation methodology, and turn behavioural and product data into measurable customer and commercial value.

This is an opportunity to take a central role in the development of an innovative AI platform already working with major international fashion and retail brands.

You will work directly with the company’s leadership, product and technical teams, influence core product decisions, and help build technology that changes how people discover and shop for products online.
