Senior Network Security Engineer

Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer to design, implement, and technically lead complex enterprise network infrastructure and network security projects.

The role focuses on building reliable, secure, and scalable network environments, including Routing, Switching, VLANs, WAN, Wireless, SD-WAN, VPN, Network Segmentation, High Availability, Firewalls, ZTNA, SASE, and Secure Remote Access.

The successful candidate will work across On-Premises, Cloud, and Hybrid environments, with a strong focus on Fortinet technologies and Enterprise or Multi-Site networks. The engineer will lead projects from technical discovery and network design through hands-on implementation, troubleshooting, validation, documentation, and handover to Support.

This position requires strong networking fundamentals, advanced troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to independently translate customer requirements into practical, secure, and supportable Network & Security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze customer business and technical requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.

• Design and implement Network & Security solutions across On-Premises, Cloud, and Hybrid environments.

• Lead hands-on implementation of complex Network & Security projects.

• Configure and deploy Firewalls, VPN, ZTNA, SASE, Secure Remote Access, Network Segmentation, and related security technologies.

• Design and implement Routing, Switching, VLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and High Availability solutions.

• Work extensively with Fortinet environments and other relevant Network & Security platforms.

• Prepare technical designs, network diagrams, HLD/LLD documentation, implementation plans, and As-Built documentation when required.

• Identify technical risks, limitations, dependencies, access requirements, and prerequisites before implementation begins.

• Validate that projects are technically ready before major implementation activities.

• Troubleshoot complex Network & Security issues during project implementation.

• Collaborate with Technical Project Managers, System Engineers, Support teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers on complex projects.

• Review significant configurations and designs where required.

• Participate in Presales technical discussions, discovery sessions, solution validation, and POCs when required.

• Ensure solutions can be operated, maintained, and supported after project completion.

• Perform structured technical handover and knowledge transfer to the Support team.

• Contribute to technical standards, best practices, reusable configurations, and internal documentation.

• Evaluate relevant new technologies and contribute to the development of new company capabilities and services.

• Share technical knowledge with the wider team and help reduce dependency on individual experts.

Professional Accountability

The Senior Network & Security Engineer is accountable for both technical quality and successful technical execution.

This includes:

• Ensuring the proposed solution is technically appropriate and implementable.

• Ensuring prerequisites and dependencies are identified before implementation.

• Delivering assigned project activities according to the approved scope and design.

• Identifying technical risks early and escalating them when necessary.

• Maintaining high implementation and configuration standards.

• Updating technical documentation to reflect the final implemented environment.

• Ensuring knowledge required for ongoing support is transferred to the relevant teams.

• Avoiding undocumented technical decisions or configurations that create future operational dependency.

Role Boundaries

The Senior Network & Security Engineer owns the technical execution of assigned Network & Security projects and may lead other engineers technically when required.

Role Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in Network and Network Security environments, with strong hands-on implementation experience.

• Strong practical knowledge of Firewalls, VPN, Routing, Switching, NAT, DNS, TCP/IP, Wireless Networking, Network Segmentation, and High Availability.

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Network & Security platforms.

• Strong Fortinet experience is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals independent of a specific vendor.

• Experience implementing Enterprise or Multi-Site network environments.

• Experience troubleshooting complex networking and security issues.

• Ability to understand requirements and design practical technical solutions.

• Experience creating technical diagrams, implementation documentation, and As-Built documentation.

• Understanding of Cloud Networking environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

• Ability to work directly with customers in technical discussions.

• High level of technical English.

Advantages

• Experience with SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA, and modern Secure Access technologies.

• Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Aruba, or other enterprise platforms.

Role Purpose

The role combines strong hands-on engineering capabilities with the ability to understand customer requirements, design appropriate solutions, identify risks and dependencies, and lead complex implementations from technical planning through successful delivery and handover.

This is a senior hands-on role. The Senior Network & Security Engineer is expected not only to design solutions, but also to actively implement, troubleshoot, validate, and support the successful delivery of complex Network & Security projects.
