About the Role
Mornex, an IT integration and managed services provider specializing in IT, cloud, and cybersecurity solutions, is looking for a Junior Field Support Engineer at the beginning of their professional career.
This is a technical role that combines on-site work at business customer locations with work from the company’s offices as needed. The position extends beyond installing computers and equipment. It includes troubleshooting, working with enterprise IT systems, mapping and documenting infrastructure, communicating directly with customers, and collaborating with Support and Engineering teams.
The role is suitable for someone who enjoys hands-on work, feels comfortable working directly with customers, and wants to build a broad technical foundation in System Administration, Networking, Cloud, and Security.
What Will You Do?
- Visit business customer sites to perform IT tasks, resolve technical issues, and carry out maintenance activities.
- Set up, connect, and install computers, monitors, docking stations, printers, peripheral devices, and network equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, and endpoint-related issues.
- Perform physical and logical checks of network equipment, communications infrastructure, cabling, and connections.
- Install and register endpoints in management, security, backup, and remote-support platforms.
- Map and document equipment and infrastructure at customer sites.
- Fully document all actions, findings, and changes, including validation before and after the work.
- Manage tasks and tickets from end to end: prepare for customer visits, coordinate with the customer, perform the work, verify the outcome, and define the next step.
- Escalate cases in a structured manner to Support, System, Networking, or Project teams when additional expertise or authorization is required.
- Work from the company’s offices as needed, including providing remote support, handling tickets, preparing equipment, documenting work, and developing professional knowledge.
Which Technologies Will You Work With?
The role provides exposure to and learning opportunities across a broad range of technologies, including:
- Microsoft and Modern Workplace: Windows, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Identity, Endpoint, and Security: Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, JumpCloud, MFA, Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender XDR, and SentinelOne.
- Networking and Connectivity: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing fundamentals; Fortinet firewalls, VPN, VLAN, Wi-Fi, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Infrastructure and Backup: Windows Server, RDS, Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, storage, snapshots, and Acronis Cyber Protect.
- Monitoring, Diagnostics, and Automation: Zabbix, TeamViewer, Quick Assist, CMD, PowerShell, and diagnostic tools.
- Business Applications and Devices: Printers, scanners, VoIP systems, conference-room equipment, and customer business applications.
Practical experience in all these areas is not required. Work begins in accordance with established guides, access permissions, and risk boundaries, with responsibilities gradually expanding as knowledge and experience develop.
What Are We Looking For?
- Formal training in IT, system administration, networking, cloud, or cybersecurity is highly preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites throughout Israel are required.
- Strong technical orientation and a basic understanding of Windows, computer hardware, and networking.
- The ability to perform hands-on work involving the installation, connection, and transportation of IT equipment.
- Independence, personal accountability, and the ability to arrive at customer sites prepared and organized.
- A professional appearance, a service-oriented mindset, and strong communication skills when working with users and business customers.
- A systematic approach to problem-solving: verify, document, and understand the situation before making changes.
- The ability to work effectively both in the field and in a technical role from the company’s offices.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate documentation and regular updates.
- Professional curiosity, independent learning ability, and a desire to advance into additional technical domains.
- The ability to read technical material in English and document work clearly in Hebrew.
- Previous experience in technical support, field services, an IT lab, or a technical military role is a significant advantage.
Professional Development Path
At the beginning, the role focuses on becoming familiar with customer environments, performing documented tasks, collecting findings, completing installations and checks, and resolving routine technical issues.
Over time, employees are expected to manage customer visits more independently, provide a professional first response across multiple technical domains, recognize when escalation is required, and gradually deepen their expertise in areas such as System Administration, Networking, Cloud, Endpoint Management, or Security.
The goal is to develop well-rounded IT professionals with strong hands-on technical capabilities, a broad understanding of enterprise environments, and the ability to represent Mornex professionally when working directly with customers.
Who Is This Role Suitable For?
This role is suitable for someone seeking a varied position that combines technology, hands-on work, and direct communication with customers.
The position requires flexibility to move between field visits and office-based technical work according to company and customer needs. It follows a hybrid work structure, combining field and office work as required.
