General Manager-Relocation position

I’m recruiting on behalf of my client, a leading and veteran company in the Communications & IT sector, for an experienced General Manager to lead its operations in Ghana.

This is a relocation position for a hands-on senior leader who combines strong technical understanding with business and operational leadership, and is comfortable taking full ownership of a complex, project-driven operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the company’s day-to-day operations and overall business activities

• Manage, hire, mentor and support project managers, customer support and operational teams

• Oversee business development, pre-sales activities, budgets and proposals

• Ensure projects and support activities are delivered within budget

• Manage relationships with customers, contractors, subcontractors and vendors

• Oversee project-related procurement and purchasing activities

• Work closely with technical leadership on new technologies, solutions and customer requirements

• Manage service contracts and ensure effective delivery of customer solutions

Requirements:

• Engineering degree in a relevant field or equivalent

• 10+ years of experience in project/program management in the telco and IT domains- Must

• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams or managing a technical department

• Strong ability to understand complex integrated systems and define technical requirements

• Experience in planning, coordinating and monitoring teams and work activities

• Proven experience in creating and managing budgets

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• High level of reliability, integrity and confidentiality

• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
