Senior Strategic Buyer

Role Overview

Responsibility for managing project-based procurement and/or procurement by categories across various technological domains, from the development and system design stages through serial production.

The role involves supporting the entire procurement lifecycle, including system design processes, RFQs, negotiations, purchasing and delivery, while ensuring optimization of procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Supplier & Subcontractor Management

- Identify and source suppliers and subcontractors in Israel and abroad in accordance with company and project requirements.

- Manage ongoing relationships and performance of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with delivery schedules and product quality requirements.

- Monitor supplier performance and support periodic supplier and subcontractor evaluations.

- Coordinate between Procurement, Logistics, Production, Warehousing and Quality teams to ensure the smooth flow of procurement processes and materials required for production, assembly and integration.

- Expedite and monitor supplier deliveries.

- Negotiation & Procurement Budget Management

- Lead negotiations with suppliers, competitive bidding and tender processes, and price comparisons.

- Manage procurement budgets across various projects, achieve cost-reduction targets and drive cost optimization.

- Monitor and manage lead times and payment terms.

Requirements

- 10–15 years of experience in procurement and purchasing, including management of suppliers and subcontractors in Israel and abroad within the high-tech and/or defense industries.

- Proven experience in negotiations and procurement contracts with local and international suppliers.

- Hands-on experience in procurement for multidisciplinary systems, including electronics, mechanics and integrated systems.

- Good understanding of development processes, BOM management and NPI processes.

- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and proven negotiation capabilities within the defense industry, including familiarity with relevant regulations and controlled/restricted components.

- Strong understanding of supply-chain processes, international shipping and freight.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a project-oriented environment.

- Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

- Hands-on experience with Priority ERP – mandatory.

- Relevant academic degree – Industrial Engineering & Management and/or a B.A. in Logistics.
