Software Engineer

Company Description ITC – Intelligent Traffic Control develops software to solve urban traffic congestion and its environmental impact. Role Description This full-time, on-site Software Engineer role is based in the Tel Aviv District, Israel. The Software Engineer will design, implement, and maintain software components that power ITC’s traffic prediction and control systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing back-end services, optimizing algorithms for performance and scalability, integrating with data pipelines and APIs, and writing clean, maintainable code. The role also involves collaborating with data scientists, product managers, and other engineers, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions. The engineer will monitor and improve system reliability in production and help translate complex traffic and ML requirements into robust software solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or similar).
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and working with databases (SQL or NoSQL).
• Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code; familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working in Linux-based environments and with cloud platforms or containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in real-time systems, computer vision, or machine learning-driven products is beneficial.
