What you’ll achieve

As a Principal Backend Engineer, Data Management, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that power our AI and data platform, while driving key architectural decisions. You will work with cross-functional engineering, product, and platform teams on innovative AI and data solutions that shape the future of our platform and deliver significant business impact.

You will:

· Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
· Drive architecture decisions for distributed systems, microservices, and data platform components
· Optimize system reliability, scalability, and performance across cloud-native environments
· Collaborate closely with product, platform, and engineering teams to deliver innovative AI and data-driven capabilities
· Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices, code quality, and technical excellence

Essential Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
· 10+ years of backend software development experience, including extensive experience with Node.js and TypeScript
· 5+ years of experience working with SQL and large-scale data systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch)
· Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
· Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Docker and Kubernetes technologies

Desirable Requirements

· Agentic-first development mindset and experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, and coding agents
· Experience building backend platforms supporting AI, machine learning, or data-intensive workloads
